Hair Tattoo

(Scalp Micro-pigmentation)

Are thinning hair, bald spots, or scalp scars affecting your confidence? Our hair tattoo (medically known as scalp micropigmentation) is a non-surgical, minimally invasive solution that creates the appearance of natural hair follicles, helping restore the look of fullness and a defined hairline.

This technique uses micro-needles to deposit pigment into the scalp, seamlessly mimicking real hair and giving you a fuller aesthetic, without hair growth treatments or surgery.

A Note from Lanna

Welcome to Compassion Ink, I am Lanna. I am very happy to be sharing my passion for helping people and my creativity. After many years in various careers I landed in esthetics and then massage therapy full time approximately 15 years ago. I have had the pleasure to work with many people from kids to grandparents, massage has taught me to be open and listen as most people just need a safe space and someone who cares.

My journey to Paramedical Tattooing was brought on by one of my amazing massage clients and my best friend. I have always found myself creative and loved art of many forms. I was looking into a fine line tattoo course for general interest, thought it would be fun. As I discussed this with my client one day on our way to yoga, she told me there was nobody in Red Deer that did Paramedical Tattooing, I asked what that was as I hadn’t heard of it before. After I got home I did some research, so many pictures touched my heart from skin cancer transformations, areola tattoos and trauma, self harm scar camouflaged. I was looking at courses as my bestfriend was diagnosed with cancer and she said go for it life can be so unpredictable.

I found some courses and ended up picking one in Toronto in July . I am grateful for my family and my friends encouraging me to learn this skill. I would tell my best friend Tanis about my studies as well as we planned a tattoo after the other training was done. Sadly this didn’t happen as my friend passed away suddenly, in her honor I will continue to give back.

With Love, Compassion and Grace,
Lanna Richmond

Your Questions Answered – Serving Red Deer with clarity and care, our FAQ section is designed to guide you through our paramedical tattoo services and address your concerns.

What is scar removal / reduction with paramedical tattooing?

Scar removal / reduction through paramedical tattooing uses custom-matched pigments to camouflage and visually soften scars, helping them blend more naturally with your surrounding skin.

How does a hair tattoo work?

A hair tattoo (scalp micropigmentation) uses tiny dots of pigment applied to the scalp to replicate the appearance of hair follicles and give the illusion of fuller hair or a defined hairline.

Is scar removal / reduction using camouflage treatments safe?

Yes, when performed by trained professionals using sterile tools and medical-grade pigments, paramedical scar removal is safe, with detailed consultation and aftercare provided for optimal healing.

What exactly is paramedical tattooing?

Paramedical tattooing, also known as medical or corrective tattooing, is a specialized field of tattooing that aims to camouflage scars, burns, and other skin imperfections. It can also involve recreating natural features, such as areolas after breast surgery.

How long does a paramedical tattoo last?

The durability of a paramedical tattoo varies based on the area treated, skin type, and aftercare adherence. While some treatments may need touch-ups over time, many can last for several years without significant fading.

Is paramedical tattooing painful?

Discomfort levels can vary depending on the sensitivity of the area being treated and the individual’s pain threshold. However, we prioritize your comfort and can use topical anesthetics to minimize pain during the procedure.

How do I know if I’m a good candidate for paramedical tattooing?

Ideal candidates are those looking to address visual concerns related to scars, burns, or other skin conditions. A consultation with our specialist will help determine if paramedical tattooing is right for you and how it can benefit your specific situation.

What is the healing time for a paramedical tattoo?

Healing times can vary, but typically, the treated area will heal within 6 weeks. Complete pigment settling and skin normalization may take several weeks. We will provide you with detailed aftercare instructions to ensure the best healing process.
